The Lazarus Continuum: A Thriller (The Lazarus Mysteries Book 2) Kindle Edition
"The Lazarus Continuum is just the kind of sequel I would have expected from Ken Fry. Jam-packed with action and adventure, tentacles of intrigue reaching to all corners of the globe, and just a splash of the metaphysical for extra spice." ~ Ken Stark, multi-award-winning author of the STAGE 3 Series
"Ken Fry's books just pull you in and you have to find out what happens to the characters. I have enjoyed bingeing on his stories."
"Too many thrillers are the same at the moment. This book is just a little bit different as it adds Christian mysticism to a thrilling story - and gets away with it. Art is the background, history is the driver and the characters are strong and believable. This is well worth a read - as is the first book. It is best to read them in order."
It's been seventeen years since Brother Baez, formerly Broderick Ladro, entered the monastery to fulfill his legacy, turning his back on all earthly affairs. His strange visions and doubts have steadily increased through the years and he goes on a desert retreat to make sense of it all.
Brodie's painting, The Raising of Lazarus, is endowed with the power to heal. A secret that must be guarded, as it has been since the first was painted thousands of years ago by Annas Zevi, who witnessed the miraculous event.
Brodie senses that a new artist is being summoned. But who?
The players are being brought together once again to protect an ancient, unbroken legacy.
Martha, Ulla's daughter, the daughter Brodie has never seen or met, is experiencing the same visions. An unknown hand seems determined that father and daughter should meet.
Amidst a series of baffling revelations, the action moves across the USA, UK, Spain, Israel and Cyprus. A pastor and an incredibly wealthy Las Vegas casino owner knows the secret and they are hell-bent on stealing the miraculous painting for wealth and power.
Unless Brodie, his daughter, Martha, and their close friends, succeed in keeping the Lazarus legacy alive and the succession unbroken, a powerful secret will fall on evil hands.
Explore the Mystery.

Editorial Reviews
From the Author
The way The Lazarus Succession ended, which was intentional on my part, there was an opportunity to continue the story several years after Ladro accepted his legacy. Besides, I received emails asking me for a sequel, and my agent and book manager, Eeva.Lancaster, would not stop the nagging if I didn't.
What's The Lazarus Continuum about?
There are 2 storylines.
The first is that after seventeen years in the monastery, Ladro's visions escalate and he senses a new artist being summoned to replace him. Who will it be?
The second revolves around a search for the miraculous Lazarus painting by a phony religious pastor and a Las Vegas casino owner, eager to make a fortune from it.
Entwined into this are the characters of Ulla Stuart and her daughter Martha. Martha is determined to track down her father, when she too started having visions. The Condesa Maria, an integral character in The Lazarus Succession makes a reappearance, along with a couple of new personalities.
Events are not simple as strange experiences bring all parties together in a dramatic finale.
The White Horse of Uffington has a major role in this story.
The Dilemma and Moral Lesson
Dilemmas stalk the major characters in this story and hang on questions of choice, loyalty and emotional ties. The moral lesson is that the participants are human and are not able to escape performing harmful acts to reach their heartfelt goals. Sanctity is reserved for higher beings.
The Relevance of The White Horse of Uffington
The Uffington White Horse is a prehistoric figure of a horse. It is located on a hillside in Oxfordshire, a few km from the towns of Wantage and Farringdon. The figure is estimated to date from between 1,000 BC and 100 AD. Digging trenches into the hillside and then filling them in with white chalk helped create it.
In the story, it is a favourite work of art of Ladro's and of his then partner, Ulla. She has moved to a house near to it, to remind herself of him, those years back. She has a deep emotional connection to it. It is used in my story as an artistic and mystical symbol that becomes the vehicle utilising dreams, visions and art to implant its form and image into the various characters, in an attempt to unite them all and make way for a new painting and painter of The Raising of Lazarus.
How do I feel about the success of The Lazarus Succession?
I feel very good indeed. Who wouldn't? I've been very surprised by it all. I hope I'm not stupid, but without the help of my amazing agent and book manager, Eeva, it would not have reached the rankings it has achieved. Almost one year now as a Religious Mystery Bestseller on Amazon U.K, never leaving the Top 5. It has not been an easy task to keep it there. I'm grateful to my readers for this small success. My only wish is that it achieves the same status in the U.S.
Expectations for The Lazarus Continuum
It is said that sequels are never as good as the original. But in its way, Continuum brings the story full circle. I am hoping that readers of Book 1 will find as much enjoyment in this book.
Will there be a Book 3?
I'd like to think so. Time is short, however, and I have at least three other novels in various stages of writing.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 10, 2018The Lazarus Continuum by Ken Fry is book 2 of The Resurrection Chronicles, sequel to the award-winning The Lazarus Succession. It picks up the story seventeen years later, where we find Brodie and Ulla right back in the thick of things, this time with Martha, their teenaged daughter, and Condesa Maria, the one woman who knows first-hand the awesome power of Brodie's enigmatic painting, The Raising of Lazarus. These heroes have come together to keep the miraculous artwork from falling into the hands of a pair of nefarious villains, and along the way they each discover new truths about themselves, about one another, and about the Lazarus legacy itself.
The Lazarus Continuum is just the kind of sequel I would have expected from Ken Fry; jam-packed with action and adventure, tentacles of intrigue reaching to all corners of the globe, and just a splash of the metaphysical for extra spice. It is billed as a stand-alone, and it could certainly be read as such, but do yourself a favor and start from the beginning. Ken Fry is a master at crafting wonderfully-complex characters, and it is a sheer joy see how they adapt and evolve as he throws them mercilessly into harm's way again and again. But heroes and villains and those caught somewhere in the middle aside, for me it was Martha who truly stole the show. No spoilers here, but as the offspring of two loving, yet terribly conflicted parents, Martha displayed some of the best (and possibly worst) traits of both, and she kept me guessing right up to the end.
No word yet on whether or not there will be a third book in the series, but I hope there is, and I wouldn't bet against it. Something tells me that these people aren't done getting themselves into trouble quite yet.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 4, 2021A story that spans eight centuries, of religion. The paintings of the rising of Laarus, that have been lost. Said to be icons, or to hold miraculous power
Spell binding account of that time. This is the sequels and well done, intriguing as all the author’s stories are. Given audio for my voluntary review

- Reviewed in the United States on August 13, 2018I am an enormous fan of author Ken Fry's work and when I realized he had published a sequel to the wonderful The Lazarus Succession, I just had to read it. I was not disappointed. This story is a continuation of the Lazarus painting story that thrilled me so much in the first book, but it also introduces some new characters and an exciting, new adventure. Fry is a master of this religious conspiracy genre and I can only recommend this book to everyone. It's an absolute winner.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 24, 2019Exciting story for the first couple rounds of intrigue but after about a third of the book, it just feels like it’s going in circles. I can’t believe I tried a second one of this author’s books! Don’t waste your time.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 22, 2020I enjoyed the adventure of this very well written book. I am only sorry that the author found it necessary to use profane language throughout it. There are thousands upon thousands of voratious readers who do not use profanity and do not enjoy being assaulted by it while reading an excellent book which would definitely hold it's own without it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A truly gripping read!
After reading the first instalment of The Lazarus Succession, which I enjoyed immensely, I couldn’t wait to get book two!!
Ken Fry is a very competent wordsmith. I look forward to reading more!

4.0 out of 5 stars The painting is finished!
A bit of a hesitant start but hang on in there because at around 15% the typos etc have faded away and you can settle in to another rattling good tale of Brodie & co. The story is very similar to the previous book but none the worse for that with new characters added to our old chums and I especially loved the vivid descriptions of the new painting and really enjoy the supernatural element. It's difficult to describe my pleasure in reading this book without giving the plot away so, if you are wondering whether or not to buy a copy - just do it, you will be glad that you did. Enjoy

5.0 out of 5 stars Another winner for Men Fry
This was well worth waiting for and I especially enjoyed seeing how Ken Fry further developed the character of the Condessa. The story was pacey, intelligent and a compelling read. Now if the author could just resist using exotic similes I would be a very happy reader😉
